Why Do I Play This Damn Game?

I am about to have another rant again…..why….because it is my site and I can. After playing limit hold’em for more or less five years solid one would have thought that I would have got used to the variance before now. But the outdraws in this form of the game even at middle limits can be brutal.

I think that it was just a culmination of events over the past few weeks getting to me but I went on yet another 100BB downswing which is no big deal in itself but the way that it happened really got to me this time. So much so that I went onto another site almost straight away on Saturday morning and lost a further $500 through sheer undiluted tilt at $10-$20 Limit Hold’em.

I played like a complete moron and then to cap it off, took what little money I had left in my account as I had only just started playing on the site and jumped into a $10-$20 NL 6 handed game with insufficient money on the table and on the verge of full blown tilt. I ended up winning over a thousand dollars on that game which was a damn site more than what I deserved.

Sometimes losing can be the best medicine of all because it teaches you a valuable lesson. I don’t know if too much limit hold’em ring game action has not mashed up my brain over the years. I look at the money won and think “was it worth it” at times and that I would be better off doing something else.
