Where’s the writer in you?
I apologise for not posting for a while but we have been experiencing a few technical problems with the blog section of pokersharkpool. So what has been happening on the poker front? Well firstly I would like to ask all of the regular readers of this blog if they would like to contribute to it on a regular basis.
Dont worry about being a winning player or anything like that as poker isnt just about professionals and players who beat the game. This is a common gripe of mine because I hate poker players who look down their noses at other players all because they can win a few bucks.
Reminds me of a famous story that happened in Vegas a few years back where a big businessman was playing in a cash game against the local pro’s for considerable stakes. After losing a considerable amount of money he got up from the table to leave the game.
On doing so he noticed several of the players sniggering to which he replied “you will probably laugh at me when I have gone but keep this in mind. I come here once a year to blow off steam but I earn over a million dollars a year and when I come back next year to blow off some more steam with money that I dont really need then you will probably all still be here trying to grind out a few bucks an hour…..so tell me…..who’s the dummy”
Playing successful poker is not necessarily about intelligence as I know people who are highly intelligent who cant win money at poker simply because they cannot be bothered to put the effort in to beat the game. So please…..please….PLEASE!!! If you want to write for pokersharkpool then please contact us and we will be glad to let you loose on the blog with your own brand of poker stories.
The thing is that I feel that this blog should be more than just me, we had Barry Carter on a while ago but he was too busy with other committments to remain for long. I just feel that people will get sick and tired of just listening to me and I would like to build a community on this website where people talk to each other and get to know each other almost like a forum.
Well anyway, get in touch if you would like to have your own poker blog and we will be glad to hear from you. Well the other news is that I have now been offered $500k to play highstakes cash games online. Once again I wont be taking up the offer. This level of money will be a good buffer at $25-$50 but I already play at that level and $50-$100 NLHE would only get me 50 maximum buy ins which is a little short.
Yes…….the variance is really that bad at highstakes NLHE.
One other thing that I would like to mention is about Project Pokerquest. I am now looking for proven winners at low stakes NLHE who are interested in being mentored upto highstakes play and already have their own bankrolls and are conversant with tracking software and have played at least 10k hands at a level that is at least 0.25-0.50.
If you fit the bill and feel that you are stagnating at your current level or have tried to move up and failed but have proven success at these limits then I would be interested to hear from you. The reason that I am looking for proven winners is simply because I dont want to spend too much time re-inventing the wheel.
Anyway take care and see ya soon
