A moment of clarity

Two pretty good sessions in the 25-50 game to report, won $1700 and $6600……unfortunately these results sandwiched a $5500 loss. I have been pretty pleased so far that my results have fallen between quite narrow ranges. But I would imagine that this has to do with the fact that I am playing shorter sessions and only targeting certain players and avoiding the really good players…….unfortunately at 25-50 that means most of them.

I really should be dropping down to 10-20 and I have mentioned this to my partner and we are going to be talking this over this weekend. Just makes more sense to me, there should be weaker players and more games at 10-20 but it isnt a big site compared to some that I am playing at the moment.

Speaking of sites…..someone asked me the other day to reveal where I play……..be serious man!!!

On a lighter note, I have finally seen the light with the NL50 games and seen what the problems are. Firstly, I have been losing discipline too much…..chucked away $100 the other day……literally!!!!! But I have been losIng discipline because I have been getting frustrated. But I am playing too LAG for multi-tabling 8-10 tables and I need to seriously tighten up. I reckon that I have been playing something like 18-16 which is way too loose for full-ring and especially multi-tabling.

I reckon I should be playing more like 13-11 at this form of poker and my decisions should be automatic because if they are not then I am going to struggle as I have very little multi-tabling experience. Also playing LAG in these games and without tracking software is leaving me open to getting picked off with a combination of observant opponents and not hand reading properly due to the speed of play.

So starting 1st Feb I will be going back into it with a much more (hopefully) effective style of play. I am still close to a thousand dollars ahead since 1st December but should be doing far better than that. My problems are that I have been trying to play poker too much and that has been my downfall.
