The Final Nail in the Coffin
Well I have finally called time on Project Pokerquest this week and scrapped the whole idea. As projects go, I was more excited by this than any other that I have undertaken to do including the 100k challenge. In fact in a strange kind of way, I was more excited by this than I was by the prospective backer (actually I have some news on that score) offering to roll me for the big limit games although as I have said before, he got a shock when he found out the size of the bankroll needed for those games.
But what I am doing is taking on a couple of players on seperate coaching phases that has nothing to do with PP at all. So PP is a complete non starter and thats official….it is now as dead as a dead dodo……and that means its pretty dead.
In future I will be more careful with my projects and who I select to do them with. But I am planning another challenge sometime this year where I will try to turn X amount of money into something but we will have to wait and see.
Dont know if I told you last time but I am now officially writing for Blonde Poker which is great and should be writing for Flush Magazine as well soon. Just reading Gus Hansens book by the way and I have to say what a great read that is, I love how that guy thinks and plays and we have an awful lot in common (except I dont own 3 WPT titles and dont pull the women like he does).
Oh yes….about the backer. Well my well intentioned backer has only gone and upped the offer and has now put close to a million dollars on the table and wants me to play the big online games. That is some pressure I can tell you but you will be gobsmacked when I tell you that I still cannot make up my mind. Although a million dollars is really only enough to play $50-$100 NLHE ($75-$150 at the outside) as it sure aint enough to hit the 200-400 and 300-600 games on Full Tilt.
But I already play at 25-50 when I play now so it isnt that big of a jump for me and playing 25-50 and I get to keep 100% of my winnings so you can see why I am not jumping in. I know several big sports bettors on Betfair who play high stakes who could do with a bit of help but being bankrolled isnt all its cracked upto be I can tell you.
Anyway take care and see ya soon
