The Dean vs POLARIS Round 2
Well here I am again in my man vs machine encounter. I played another session of 100 hands yesterday against Polaris. Time is not really on my side these days as I would like to play a much longer series of hands but playing 500-1000 hands takes up a fair amount of time.
Well I started the session like an idiot, played like an idiot, concentrated like an idiot and got hammered like an idiot. Only when I was $400 down after 34 hands did I really start to play. I was far too aggressive and Polaris simply picked me off. I know how aggressive it is and was trying to out muscle it and simply passed it 20BB in no time whatsoever through idiotic play.
But yet after 100 hands, not only had I clawed it back helped by a couple of very lucky pots but I finished ahead by $65 and won 52% of the hands played. This means that I am ahead by $240 after 200 hands of play which is nothing really and is only 12BB which can be gone very quickly. I did actually get infront by about $250 at one stage yesterday but a bad run in the last five hands lost me some back.
My problem is that I am struggling to concentrate when there is no money involved and I am making mistakes all over the place. Despite me playing on auto-pilot and being a resident in mistake city, I really feel that I have the programmes number even after only 200 hands.
I have worked very hard on my game over 6 full years so it is no real surprise that I am doing well…no surprise to me anyway. I dont know how long I will keep this experiment up for, probably several thousand hands I would have thought but I am actually starting to enjoy it.
