The Dean Going Hi Tech
Well I suppose it had to happen because it is the future but this week I have been using Poker Office tracking software for the very first time and thought that it was excellent. The software has its very own built in HUD (Heads Up Display) which places a wide variety of information about my opponents play at my fingertips as well as highlighting flaws in my own game.
But I know numerous people who are using Pokertracker and PAHUD (Poker Ace Head Up Display) who tell me that PT is more powerful than PO so I might try them both and see what happens. The software at first glance seems quite daunting but once you get used to it then it is surprisingly simple to use.
Although as more and more online players are using them then it becomes more important to spot the flaws in the software and I have spotted two already. Although I will be using it, at the end of the day it all comes down to how you interpret the data and certain players will do this better than others. The technical minded amongst us will tend to put too much dependency on it which could prove fatal when playing above certain limits.
I think that with all technical analysis tools, the very best know when to take their advice and when to use it and when to ignore it and go with something else.
