Taking a Breather

Honestly, there is only so much punishment that a guy can take before he just needs to take a breather and clear his head. After doing in $15,000 in the last two weeks in one capacity or another after experiencing my worst ever run at No Limit Hold’em by a country mile, I need to clear the old noggin somewhat so I am not playing for a while.

OK, so this may not be a huge amount of money when compared to many highstakes players but I don’t move in those circles or play for those limits. Although it has to be said that I have only recently switched to playing heads up NL for the very first time in a cash game setting so I have no experience as yet of the swings that are in this form of the game.

After listening to numerous people in the game who know me well and know my game and standard of play then I took the bait and moved to heads up NL. I am beginning to wish that I had stuck to the relative calm of the six handed cash games and limit games. Man do I do some stupid and rash things at times and I pay big for that.

When I write a blog like this then it helps me to get over it by informing other people what a dummy even supposed good players can be at times. Things got so bad that I almost tilted and that would have been shameful. Still, on the good side, I am still ahead at HU No limit but I have not had a break since Easter and that time may have come.
