Off and Running

Well I am happy to report that I have managed to stick to my scheduled start date for the 100K challenge and played for just under 4 hours today. The end result was a profit of a mind bendingly grand total of $8….yes thats right…..$8.

Man was I unlucky, all in with aces twice pre-flop in $150 pots, once I am against kings and they hit a third cowboy on the turn and the other has AK suited and they go runner runner to make a straight.

But the good news was that I retained discipline and especially so because I was multi-tabling. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a big fan of it. But anyway, I am off and running and I think that I need to multi-table at the lower limits otherwise I will never attain the required hourly rate.

I was discussing with my friends yesterday if they would allow me to buy back in for another $1000 should I bust out but they were having none of it. Not even when I said that if I lost the initial grand and bought back in for another grand that I would then have to reach $102,000 instead of $101,000 to compensate for that rebuy.

They are not stupid, they know full well that $1000 can be won very easily in a $10-$20 game and that the hardest part for me will be to get off the ground in the first place.  I will be giving a breakdown of the running total in future blogs.
