Its even tougher for morons

I didnt post last night, not because I couldnt be bothered but because I was too sick to do so. Poker is a tough way to make a living at the best of times but its even worse when you are a moron. Played the 25-50 game late last night after watching the England game on Setanta.

I ended up playing five handed in a 6-max game which isnt my usual game plan but one of my targets was on it. What I should have realised was that his ultra tight aggressive game and my own style wasnt suited to my short handed game and mode of thinking. So I get KK in the BB and the button 3-bets to $525 after the cut-off open raises to $175. This 3-bet seemed a tad low to me and was different to his bet sizing in FR.

Straight away I am sensing that he wants action and to me that means AA as he would not bet QQ that way and his normal 3-bet is to $650-$700 to end the action pre-flop. I am trying to decide if four betting will help me to reveal his hand better but he wouldnt lay down QQ anyway as he knows that it looks to me that I could be simply attacking a player who is attacking an apparent stealer.

But yet I dont want to call and then see the cut-off come along too. I think that I need to define my hand now and get rid of the cut-off so I four bet to $1900, I like to bet more than pot when out of position. Cut-off folds but the button calls. I am not liking this at all now and I am fearing getting crushed with KK under AA. The flop comes J-7-6 two clubs and I had the king of clubs.

Its possible that he could have JJ as well as part of his range but I suspect that he would fold TT and I know that he wouldnt play it but I doubt that he would have raised so low with JJ anyway. He either has KK or AA and I have the kings so I am either splitting or am buried. I just dont know what to do, I had over 7k in my stack and he had about 6.2k so I was risking a big chunk of money here, two thirds of which was someone elses.

Do I make a feeler bet on the flop or do I check call or look to check raise him and try to get some fold equity……what bloody fold equity…..there aint no way that he’s folding AA here. So I check hoping that he checks it back and gives me a free card…..no such luck…..he bets 2/3 pot and now I am looking at getting pot committed if I proceed here. It just feels wrong to call so I fold…….and he shows me QQ.

Now alot of people will slate me for laying KK down there in six max but this wasnt a six max player……maybe I just ****** up. So now I am almost tilting, not quite tilt but I am extremely pissed off. I log off which is commendable and calm down. Two hours later and get rivered for an 8k pot with some dude hitting a four outer to fill up.
