Good weekend

I am never happy whenever I go against a British player in any event but making Andy Murray favourite for the Aussie Open was a bet that was crying out to be laid. Although I have to confess that him getting knocked out by Verdasco as early as the 4th round came as a bit of a surprise. But I am glad that I can relax now a full week early and move on.

It never ceases to amaze me just how hype affects prices in sports. Seriously tempted to lay Liverpool for the title but not overly happy with the current price. Man Utd are not playing well but winning but they have chronic injuries. Liverpool just dont seem to have that cutting edge in front of goal and is why teams like Everton and Villa stifle them.

Played one short session of 25-50 over the weekend and won $300…….wow!!! This only playing when certain players are present is really getting boring. But I am $16,400 up this month so cannot complain and I am not far behind my 250k target for the year.

I have also been reading the cash game series by Harrington again and I have to say that reading those two books has done wonders for my game as I had developed a few leaks of late. Only played a total of 25 hours poker this month so far but when you look at the most successful high-stakes players on Full Tilt then most of them dont play that many hands.

We discussed dropping down to 10-20 over the weekend and it does seem like a good idea but I dont want to rock the boat while things are going well. I may start having a dabble when there is no 25-50 but the only problem is that my partner is tracking the games and it means more work for him and he has other commitments of his own and so do I.

I am behind on the month by about $100 in the NL50’s but I reckon that I have lost around $750 having KK vs AA. There is something about KK in NL50’s and I am sure that I am going to have to reassess this hand as it is obviously costing me money…..getting all in pre-flop for 100BB in these tight full-ring NL50’s cannot be right.

Should be starting 1st Feb with a far stronger style
