Due for a good session
Won $13 last night over 1hr 15 mins in the Pro Poker Challenge which takes me to +$341 on the month over 3835 hands so far. Had another 100bb pot taken away from me last night. Guy raises to $1.75 and gets a caller, I call with pocket sevens (good implied odds). Flop comes 10-7-3 two tone. I check from the BB and first raiser bets the pot and second player folds.
I call to represent a flush draw. Turn card is a king and they bet half pot and this time I move them in for what they had left and they call to show……KK. These are just normal poker occurences of course and lord knows that I have taken hundreds of times worse than this playing limit……but hey…..this is a daily blog now so I need something to talk about.
I reckon my Sklansky Dollars are way ahead of where I am although its hard to put a figure on it as I am not able to use my Poker Office 5 on Cake Poker. So whats the plan…….well the plan this month is to play as much as I can at NL50-NL20 and then see what happens. I am only playing NL20 as a fall back for not being able to play enough at NL50 through a lack of action.
I think it is OK to play at two different levels if the second level is below your regular one. But even then the dynamic could be different. As a rule, I dont think that NL20 should be too much different to NL50 as its only an extra $30 to buy in for the max. Likewise with NL50 to NL100 as its only an extra $50. I think though that NL100 to NL200 would have a significant skill difference as this is a $100 difference and definitely NL200 to NL400.
I may ask around on the forum about this but much of it comes down to feel anyway so I may just have to suck it and see. What I am going to try and do is say to put $400 into a seperate bankroll and play four tables at NL100 when the time is right and see what happens. A combination of a new level and multi-tabling may mean that I lose the money but that money will be nothing more than shot taking money.
I know that $400 isnt enough to play NL100 but I strictly speaking wouldnt actually be playing at NL100…..I would be taking a shot and experimenting at NL100 and nothing more. I dont think that I am going to make $2K-$3K this month as my projected figure for the number of hours that I will end up playing will probably be around 60-70. I really need to have a look at my diary for next month if I am to find 100 hours a month as I am struggling at the moment but I am not managing my time properly.
Anyway…..enjoy your weekend.
