A time to reflect

Won a further $6 last night in a 90 minute session of NL50 and NL20. This takes me to +$256 for the month after 5 hours of play (dont know the number of hands until I check). I am still not happy with my play around the blinds and something feels wrong with what my “coach” told me the other day.

This is still work in progress but I have still made fantastic strides this past week or so. The blinds seem to be defending more and the range that I have been advised to use seems to be increasing variance without making money…..wish I had my Poker Office 5 to help me.

But I am still more than happy with how the first two days have gone but I am a perfectionist and I want everything to be just right…..maybe thats not possible. Maybe only playing a big enough sample size will eradicate these thoughts. I know that I played 800 hands after the first 2 hours so by that calculation I should have played around 2k hands so far.

My other backer pulled out yesterday and requested his money, times are really starting to bite for many people. This was music to my ears actually and while we had a deal until the end of June, the games have been going so well that I didnt want 3 backers. I was glad to release him and that means that I am now getting 50% of everything that I win from the 25-50 game instead of 33%. My main partner remains and I think that this is how it will stay now as I will not be looking for anymore backers.

Speaking of playing poker, I think that it is starting to dawn on me that my current situation is dictating that I may never surpass 100k in earnings again. I just dont seem to be able to find the time to play enough poker. The value in my 25-50 game is getting thin on the ground and there havent been any value players around for a few days.

So I am going to have to have a good think this summer at how things are going and see if I cant change a few things. I will definitely need something in place for when this challenge ends.
