Its a funny old game

Well either poker is funny or maybe I am…or both. I dont know if it is just the sheer repetition of playing too many ring games but I am craving variety in my poker life once again. This was the reason behind why I wanted to do the $100k challenge.

Ideally I would really like to go for the big bucks and prestige of a big online tournament win or live win like a WPT or a WSOP. But I know that this could be an awful long time in coming….if ever. There are some great players out there who do not have a major title to their name….a bit like golf to some degree.

But I have been playing PLO recently and have been enjoying it and it has seemed like a breath of fresh air. At least the 100k challenge seems different and the games are a challenge even though the limits are tiny.

Speaking of the challenge, I had a horrendously unlucky session today and lost three entire buy-ins or $300. That is 30% of my original buy in and was a big blow. I was unlucky with the suckouts again but apart from that my discipline was fine. My bankroll stands at $708!

The figure of $101,000 seems light years away.
