Crazy Horse by Name

Damn if I don’t like Ram Vaswani, I mean the guy is so utterly fearless when it comes to wagering money that I get goose pimples just reading about some of his exploits let alone doing them. I am of course referring to Ram Vaswani of the Hendon Mob who is known as “Crazy Horse”. A very appropriate title for one of the best poker players in Europe right now and definitely one crazy mother.

I just heard about his big golf bet with Full Tilt pro and all round poker living legend, Phil Ivey. Playing for nose bleed amounts of money on every single hole, apparently so the story goes, Ivey was given a totally wrong handicap and had been playing golf regularly and had also been having serious lessons from a pro unknown to Vaswani.

Despite the fact that Vaswani rumbled him during the round, he still played on and ended up owing Ivey a figure close to a million dollars by the end of the round. Vaswani is a born gambler and a fierce poker opponent, somebody I would not like to meet down a dark alley whatever the game.

But you can’t help but love the guy, I mean he was even playing backgammon at the recent poker nations cup for fifty grand a session. It just goes to show the difference in characters in the world of professional poker. Me on the other hand…..well I will stick to my nice and safe $10-$20 No Limit with my pipe and slippers.
