A New Era

Well tonight I will be playing my first online poker tournament in absolutely ages. When I say tournament then I mean MTT and not SNG’s obviously. I will be playing in the 100k guarenteed tournament on Cake Poker starting at 10.00 GMT. Hopefully this will start my online tournament “career” as this is something that I have been looking to get into for sometime.

I will be playing a tournament every Sunday evening from now on but I will be looking to expand my online tournament participation and maybe look to play several tournaments a week. I will certainly be playing the monthly $250,000 tournament on Cake thats for sure.

I have had some bad news with regards the 1k a month challenge. As of today I have temporarily suspended it. There are inherent problems with the system that I cannot figure out with the time frame that I have so I have suspended it. It is a real shame because I had high hopes for this but I am going to be concentrating on a few other things.

I am now or will be increasing my participation on Pokerroad which for those of you who dont know is or soon will be the best forum out there when it comes to poker expertise and the quality of the players who participate on it. I have been talking to Barry Greenstein this week who has very high hopes for this site. When you look at the people who post there then you cannot help but be impressed, people like Brunson, Antonius, Dwan, Rosenkrantz, Obrestad, Williams, Greenstein, Sebok, Hastings to name but a few.

But getting back to the 1k thing and I cannot figure out the problems. Am I not doing it right, have I got the right criteria, am I losing too much buying in for only 20% of the maximum??????? I have been unlucky there is no doubt of that but another problem is that there are going to be differences from site to site with regards the tightness of the tables and the level of aggression and that is going to impact the results.

I am in serious danger of getting myself a reputation of someone who starts things and then doesnt see it through. Oh and one more thing, my latest book “Killer Roulette” is about to go on sale. This is a great book about people past and present who have extracted money from roulette in one way or another…..mainly by cheating. Its a great book and should ruffle a few feathers.
